Have you lost your Crojo? Your desire to crochet?
It happens to the best of us! But it is definitely possible to get it back.

Losing our crojo can happen when we’re not enjoying anything that you’re making or you’re totally uninspired. The longer it goes on for the more impossible it feels to get back any desire to pick up a hook.
The first thing to do is to not over think it or stress about it. The more you stress or think about it, the bigger a problem it can be perceived to be.
The second thing to do is to not focus on having to make anything, but instead focus on just picking up your hook and creating stitches. Just being at one with your hook is often the trigger that you need. If you really want to make something, then start with your basic granny square or something simple like a basic washcloth.
Try not to put pressure on yourself to ‘have’ to make something. Just enjoy the act of crocheting without any plan. Play around with different stitches, different yarns or different colours. Get curious and see which ones you love and hate the most. Once you know what you enjoy more you’ll be able to seek out projects that are more fun for you.
And surround yourself with other crocheters and inspiration. Members of my Hooked on Crochet Club find themselves crocheting more after they join. It is inspiring to see what others are creating and to get ideas for things that you could make too. If you not sure where to go for inspiration then follow me on instagram, subscribe to my YouTube channel and maybe even just join the Hooked on Crochet Club. The more that you immerse yourself in the crochet world, the easier it will be to pick up your hook and get creating.
Be kind to yourself. We can be our own worst critic which is never helpful. Sometimes I find it rewarding to just sit and play with yarn and imagine the different things it could become. Eventually something will jump out at me and I’ll just have to make it!
If you’ve lost your crojo before and found it again, share how you did it below. The more we can help each other the better!
