So I finally have my pattern written for my retro cowl!   Pattern is available for sale in my store and ravelry.  It’s written in US and UK terms and includes a chart for reference.  And even better, the stitch can be adapted to make anything that you want, so you don’t need to limit yourself to a cowl…it would look wonderful as a blanket or a scarf too!
