If you’re just starting out in crochet and wanting to try some beginner friendly washcloths then you’re in the right place! I produce a new washcloth every month, and have done so for the past 4 years. Below as some links to ones that I have published that use only the basic stitches so are definitely more beginner friendly.

This one is from 2020 and is called Cream Pie. This one is made with Double Crochet Stitches (UK Treble) working between the stitches instead of working into the stitches.
This one is also from 2020 and is called Mulberry. It is made from one of my favourites – the Griddle Stitch – which is a combination of Single and Double Crochet (US terms).

Almost all of the washcloths from 2021 are beginner friendly. These are all made using single crochet (US terms) and have different borders. Not all of the borders are beginner friendly, but there is a discount for purchasing the bundle so you’ll have them ready to go when you get more confident.
This one is from 2023 and uses double crochet (US terms) and is a filet crochet. I’ve called it Diamond in the Rough.

This one is Candy Lane from 2022. It is worked in the round and only uses basic stitches. It also gives you the opportunity to get creative with colour and practice changing colours.
Even the name of this one suggests that it is beginner friendly – it’s called Easy Peasy. This one is in my current series and uses single crochet but the stitches are worked into the back and front loops.

This last one is called Crosshatch and also uses basic stitches. The design comes from working over the chains to the row for some of the stitches.
These are only a small selection of the washcloths that are available in my store. There are discounted bundles and additional automatic discounts that are applied once you reach $20AUD spend. The added bonus of these is that the instructions in almost all of them can be used to create anything else that you want so you get to test out your inner designer!
