In case you weren’t already aware, I have a love for granny squares. I could go on and on about the different things I love about them, but I’m sure that you’ll discover most of them yourself when you start making them, if you haven’t already discovered it!
I’ve also been posting a new granny square project every month for quite some time now too, so I thought I would share my top three things to make with granny squares in this single blog post. These are all projects that use five or less granny squares so will be an easy weekend project if you choose simple squares to make them with.
The first of my go to projects is a bookmark. You can never have enough of them in my world! You can make a bookmark from one square or up to five squares depending on the style that you prefer. I still use all of these on a regular basis.

Bags, baskets and pouches from granny squares is my second go to favourite of mine. You can always make much larger bags using more or bigger squares, but here are some of the ones that I have made that use five or less squares.

Wall hangings is my final favourite and there are so many ways that you can create them – and there will be another one to show you next week too! All of these are made with one square that just gets bigger, the one I have next week to show you will be made from three.

These are also the perfect type of project to give as gifts too. They can all be found on my blog if you scroll back through them all to the one that you’re looking for.
If granny squares are new to you then I also encourage you to check out my Square a Day Challenge! It’s a self-paced challenge with accountability days (should you need them) a few times a year. It is perfect for all crochet levels and teaches you so many things with just five squares!
Let me know what you’re favourite things are to make with five or less granny squares! And if there is something that you would like to see made from granny squares that you can’t see on my blog, then let me know! I have a list that I am working from and will gladly bump something up if you need the inspiration.
