A Crochet Washcloth with Shells

I’m thinking that this might be my first washcloth pattern that has rows of shells! Maybe you can double check for me…

Shells come in various shapes and sizes, but one thing they all have in common is multiples stitches worked into a single stitch with skipped stitches on either side. So if you have a pattern that says shell stitch, be sure to read the pattern notes to find how the shell is made.

I decided to call this one Shell Symphony after calling on chat gpt for a little help with brainstorming. I’ve never really been motivated to use shells in the body of a design before. I have on the border though. I do like that it was relatively easy to get the hang of the pattern row repeats and with some practice it could be made without relying on the pattern or counting rows.

I’ve used my go to KnitPicks Dishie for this washcloth. It would be lovely made up in some beachy tones and used to dress up a beach style bathroom. You could could easily turn it into a cushion or blanket too if you enjoy working it up.
