Part 7 of the Free version is officially available from today. If you’re a member of the Hooked on Crochet Club or if you already signed up then you have access to Parts 1-8 already!
So what is part 7?
Part 7 is the join! It is one that is designed to work with squares that might be slightly different sizes or have different stitch counts.

If you’re only just hearing of it now or were waiting for the free version, then keep reading as I;’ll explain it to you.
There are two versions released, both have 8 parts to them. The paid version had each part released one day at a time over 8 days – all parts are now available. The paid version will give you access to the video tutorials (left and right handed) and picture guides as well as the written pattern. Everything is accessible in a dedicated hub with an app access to make it easier to find all that you need. No matter when you join you’ll have access to all parts that have been released to date.
The free version was released July 01st and each part will be released every two weeks – no matter what date you sign up for it. The free version will give you access to the next part every 14 days and will only give you access to the written pattern.
So how you participate is up to you! Both version will give you the final blanket and access to the written patterns.

With this JOYCAL you can decide to make the blanket as I have made it, or you can create your own version. If you create your own version you can make the squares any size you prefer, you can make any number of squares you prefer and you can use whichever ones you love the most. The whole idea is that you only make the squares that are bringing you JOY!
If you want to make the blankets the way that I did, then you have two options for yarn.
Option 1
- 1 x 10 x 4ply 50g lola bobble box for the squares
- 1 x 200g lola solo for joining and the border
Option 2
- 5 colours, 3 balls of each – Fiddlesticks Wren (4ply cotton) – 15 x 50g balls total
- 10 x single colour – Fiddlesticks Wren (4ply cotton) – 10 x 50g balls total
You can buy the yarn from BelleMae Yarns at the link below

Enjoy!

I am really enjoying this project. It’s the most complex thing I have tackled with yarn and a crochet hook. Ups and downs, a few backward steps but mostly forward. Really worthwhile experience.
