It feels like forever since I released a pattern! But my Aztec Whirl is now out!
This one was a test of my OCD preferences to work a whirl on the long row. I struggle with items I wear not being symmetrical with colours. All of my whirl scarfs so far have been infinity scarves worked in the round or triangle ones. I needed to challenge this though as many designers have designed scarves on the short side.
So I tried.
And I just couldn’t do it.
So this is worked on the short rows, but I opted to join it in the end to make it into an infinity scarf. I just couldn’t wear a scarf that was different colours on the ends! And it didn’t help that the pattern design was going up on one side and down on the other when wearing it.
I did however write instructions for both so that if you can manage to wear it open ended, then you can! It is a super long scarf too so you’ll need to wrap it around a few times, which also meant it made more sense to make it an infinity scarf.
This was also my first time using a Scheepjes Woolly Whirl, and just quietly between you and I, I think I like it much more than the usual whirl! It’s a shame that it doesn’t have as many colour options to choose from.
So here it is!
My Aztec Whirl – named because the stitch design reminded me of Aztec patterns.
And you can find it in all my usual places!
