This is probably one of our most basic crochet stitch – and one of our most useful! I had never considered creating a tutorial for this stitch until it was requested in my last square a day challenge. it’s one of those stitches that over time you just do without thinking. So much so that I forgot that I also used to wonder if I was doing it correctly.
So here is the tutorial! This stitch is used to join stitches together at the end of a round. It is also used to join squares or motifs together when you’re joining as you go. I also consider it the “travelling stitch” as it allows you to move from one location to another – particularly when making squares and you need to move across a stitch or two in between rounds.
