This seems to be the time of year where we look back and reflect on what was and what we want our next year to look like.
I don’t want to jinx it, but it is definitely feeling like the world is starting to open up and a new ‘almost back to normal’ is settling in. I kind of like some of the changes that have evolved though. We’ve learned a whole new way to communicate and exist that we wouldn’t have learned if we hadn’t been forced into lockdowns and isolation. The online world has definitely grown and with it a new sense of freedom.
For me, I am loving that the changes have allowed me to connect and grow an online community with the Hooked on Crochet Club. I love being able to help women from all over the world learn more crochet and find their own kind of freedom and calm in the craft. Crochet truly is a craft that keeps on giving.
And that is why I want more of it my future world. I have plans that are dusting off in my head for how to make my community even bigger and better. And I would love for it to evolve with you.
In 2023 I am revamping the Square a Day Challenge. A lot of it will be the same, but you can expect some changes. I want to be able to help more people learn crochet and with that some changes are needed. I will be simplifying the learnings form it and aiming to crate a space for beginners to come and learn crochet. The square a day challenge is perfect for that jump start into learning that can then be further developed in the Hooked on Crochet Club.
I’d like too introduce a masterclass for learning to read patterns. I haven’t settled on the logistics for delivery yet, but do know that it is in the plans!
I am planning on growing the Hooked on Crochet Club to be even bigger and better! I am in the process of filling up a brand new hub for our members to use that will make finding new projects and lessons even easier than it is now. They’ll be able to search more easily and can even search for words spoken in a video and be taken to that exact spot to watch it. How cool is that?!
I am super excited to see what the members of the Hooked on Crochet Club achieve in this coming year as well. It has been so awesome to see so many of them learn new things – a snippet of them is below. I have the next 12 months of projects mapped out and cannot wait to design, share and teach them to members.

There are changes brewing for me too…
I have a few trips planned this year – most of them for the mastermind that I am part of. I love being in the mastermind and growing and learning with other women business owners. It’s a whole new world for me as I look to transition from being a corporate girl with a business to some day being a full-time business owner. It’s a scary prospect for me, but one I am excited to transition towards. I have no idea when that transition will be finished, but it is in the plans!
And of course my 2023 needs to include my hooks and yarn. As well as all of the washcloths and projects and squares for the Hooked on Crochet Club, I have two temperature blankets planned for next year – one for the minimum and one for the maximum. I’ll still be making a granny square inspiration project every month. And I would love to create more tops and cardigans and jumpers. (I love that I have used plurals there!). I still have my stash of hand-dyed yarns to use up (though it keeps growing too), and my Lolas. I feel like I haven’t played wiht enough Lola’s this past year. I need to change that.
What about you? What do you see happening for you in 2023? What will you be doing to make it happen? I’m curious to know and would love it if you’d share it with me!
Seona x
