How to Make a Soap Mitt from Granny Squares

I’ve recently transitioned back to using soap instead of a shower gel, which means soap mitts and soap scrubbies are very handy to have! I find them an easy way to use soap instead of a washcloth. And that is why I decided to design a soap mitt to use!

If you want to make one then I recommend finding some cotton yarn. I’ve used Paintbox Cotton DK in natural colours. You can use any ply or brand that suits you though.

To make this was relatively simple. I’ve chosen a granny square pattern from the Hooked on Crochet Club library and made two to them. I have then joined them on three sides and added more rounds around the open end. Once I got the length I needed to fit my hand I crocheted a cuff.

You can make this in any size and design that you want! This can be a fund addition to the bathroom if you have small kids too, and an easier way for them to use soap. You might also want to make two and have a pair so that you don’t need to change hands. Or you can just pop the soap inside and use it as a scrubbie instead of a mitt.

The options for making this your own design are endless!
