Lately I’ve had that feeling…
You know the one where you feel like you’re just not quite getting on top of things?
There’s a list in your head of everything you want to do…
but the time just doesn’t seem to stretch far enough.
Crochet has been one of those things for me.
Not because I don’t want to do it…
but because I keep thinking I need more time to do it properly.
And that’s where I’ve had to stop myself.
Because the truth is…
Crochet confidence isn’t built in big chunks of time.
It’s built in the small moments we keep coming back to.
I used to think I needed a full block of time to make progress.
A proper sit down.
A decent stretch where I could really get into it.
But what I’ve realised (again… because I seem to relearn this often) is that consistency matters far more than intensity.
It’s not about how long you crochet for.
It’s about how often you come back to it.
Because every time you pick up your hook, even for a few minutes…
You’re reminding your hands what to do.
You’re reconnecting with your stitches.
You’re building familiarity without even realising it.
And that’s where confidence actually comes from.
So I’ve been leaning back into something much simpler.
Five minutes.
That’s it.
No expectations.
No pressure to “get somewhere” with it.
Just picking it up… and doing a little.
And it’s funny how something so small can shift things so quickly.
It feels easier to start.
It feels less overwhelming.
And I’m not losing that connection with my crochet in between.
If you’re someone who struggles to stay consistent (and I know a lot of you do), it’s usually not because you’re lacking motivation.
It’s because what you’re expecting from yourself is just a little bit too big for the season you’re in.
So instead, try making it smaller.
You could:
- do just one row
- pick up your project without even committing to stitching
- leave your crochet somewhere you’ll see it
- or tie it to something you already do each day
Nothing complicated.
Just enough to keep you coming back.
Because this is what I want you to remember…
You don’t need to do more to get better at crochet.
You just need to stay connected to it.
And the women I see grow the most in confidence aren’t the ones doing the biggest projects…
They’re the ones who keep showing up, in small ways, over and over again.
If you’re wanting a bit more support with that—
with building consistency, understanding patterns, and actually feeling confident in what you’re doing—
that’s exactly what we focus on inside the membership.
Not just giving you patterns…
But helping you stop second-guessing,
stop relying on YouTube,
and start understanding what you’re doing when you crochet.

I’d love to know…
Are you someone who waits until you have more time to crochet?
Or are you already leaning into the small moments?
