Staying Consistent with Crochet When Life Feels Busy

There are seasons where crochet feels easy to fit in.

And then there are seasons where…

It just doesn’t.

Lately, life has felt full.

Not necessarily in a bad way… just full.

Work, responsibilities, things that need my attention… and before I know it, the day is gone and I haven’t picked up my hook. I still pick it up, but it feels harder to relax into it.

And it’s so easy in those moments to tell yourself…

“I just don’t have time.”

But I’ve been sitting with that thought a little more this week.

And if I’m really honest…

I’m not sure it’s actually true.

Because there are small pockets of time in my day.

Waiting for something.
Sitting for a few minutes before I move onto the next thing.
Those in-between moments that don’t feel big enough to matter.

And that’s usually where crochet gets pushed aside.

Not because there’s no time…

But because it doesn’t feel like enough time.

Instead I turn to my phone and start scrolling or start a game.

And that’s the part that’s been shifting for me.

What if it didn’t need to be a full session?

What if crochet could just fit into your life as it is… instead of waiting for life to slow down?

I’ve been leaning into making things simpler.

Having something small and easy to pick up.

Something I can:

take with me
leave within reach
come back to without overthinking

Not a big project that needs planning…

Just something that’s ready when I am.

Because when it’s easy to pick up…

you’re far more likely to actually do it.

And this is what I keep coming back to.

Consistency doesn’t come from pushing yourself harder.

It comes from removing the friction.

From making it easier to start than to avoid.

From letting it be small.

Because small, repeated moments…

that’s what builds momentum.

And momentum is what brings you back to your crochet again and again.

So if you’ve been feeling like you’re not crocheting as much as you’d like…

You’re not behind.

You’re just in a season where things need to look a little different.

And crochet can still be part of that.

Just in a way that fits.

If you’re wanting a gentle way to get back into it…

That’s exactly why I created Kickstart.

It’s for those seasons where you want to crochet…
but you need it to feel simple, flexible, and easy to come back to.

So you’re not starting over again and again…

You’re just picking it back up.

I’d love to know…

Is it time that stops you from crocheting right now?
Or is it getting started again once you’ve stopped?
