There is no such thing as too many coasters! Well that’s what I think now that I can crochet and love making squares.
If you know how to make a square, then you know how to make a coaster. And even if you only know how to make one square then your only limit is your imagination. Just change the colours, play around with the edging, add a tassle or fringe or don’t. As long as the stitches are flat ones or create an even surface then you have a coaster.

I prefer to make them with cotton. This month’s is with a 4ply mercerised cotton and a 3mm hook. I used the cluster flower granny from the Hooked on Crochet Club and added and extra round and some tassles using a fringe method on each corner.
I’ll be showing the clubhouse members exactly how I made this coaster during one of our hook and learn lessons in November.
What square and colours would you make this style coaster in?
And if you’re wondering why I’ve published a granny square project a week early, it’s because I have a surprise pattern release coming out next week! Hit subscribe if you love your squares and gradient yarn as you’re going to love the pattern!
