Barefoot Sandals

I have been wanting to make some barefoot sandals for ages! I had not intended on making these ones either, but I had a “me” day and started making these triangles for a different purpose and then changed my mind. In coming up with a different idea I decided to turn the triangles into sandals instead.

And I’m glad that I did!

The triangle I used was a Clubhouse “square”. I used natural wooden beads that I had in stock at home and the yarn was Scheepes Legacy cotton No 10 and a 3mm hook. The foot model is my daughter who wears size 9 ladies shoes. My feet are only a size 6 ladies and they ended up too long for me with the 3 beads. For me, I would add only one, maybe two beads and would maybe make the toe ring part a bit smaller too. The straps are a simple chain – though you could also attach ribbon or cord if you don’t like the idea of making a chain.

These sandals are perfect for those that prefer to be barefoot and want to “dress up” their feet. You coulduse any triangle pattern, or possibly even a circle design. Size can be adjusted by the thickness of the yarn, the number of beads or the number of rounds of the triangle.

I’ll be showing my Clubhouse members exactly how I made this wreath in our week 2 Hook and Learn lesson in the Clubhouse. Every week in the Hooked on Crochet Club I have a live tutorial that covers a pre-planned project or a tutorial for a stitch or technique that members need on a current project – either their own or a clubhouse one.
