I purchased a couple of hexagon canvases a while ago and decided to finally put one of them to use! I’ve shared a similar wall hanging previously using a square canvas, so I decided to create a hexagon to go with it.
The canvas I purchased from a local craft store. It is a 6inch canvas and has a depth of about 1cm or close to half an inch.
I used Scheepjes Catona cottons in different colours and a 3mm hook. The hexagon was one from the Hooked on Crochet Club. I simply increased the size of the hexagon until it almost reached the edge of the canvas and then stopped increasing so that it would then form the edge. I considered gluing it to the canvas around the outer edge, and I might still do that, but for now it is staying on the canvas without any glue. By not gluing it down I can mix and match them if I choose to make more. If I was selling it I would probably glue it down.
I’ll be showing the members of the Hooked on Crochet Club exactly how I made this in one of our weekly Hook and Learn lessons.
I’ll be sending a copy of this washcloth to all of the members of my Hooked on Crochet Club this weekend to say thank you for being a member!
Not a member yet? Join the Hooked on Crochet Club! The Clubhouse is the place all crocheters should be, especially if they’re wanting to learn more and keep inspired! We’ll provide you with new projects each month, weekly tutorials and much, much more…
If you make one of these wall hangings, be sure to share it with me!
